What is a discovery call?
Before making an appointment with one of our dietitians, we offer 15 minute discovery calls for our clients. In this call, you’ll have the opportunity. to ask questions about working with a dietitian. We also hope to get to know you a bit and learn about your recovery thus far. This allows us to provide information about who we think will be the best fit for your recovery. We will set up the initial appointment as well. And send over some initial paperwork.
What can you expect from your first appointment?
You might be feeling nervous about working with a dietitian. And if you do, that’s totally normal. It can be difficult to process your relationship with food while challenging your eating disorder. We think of the initial session as a “get to know you.” You will have space and time to share your own story. We will likely spend the session asking you some questions and getting feedback from you.
Most likely, we won’t set any “goals” that session. Unless it’s something you feel is important. You will also have an opportunity to ask your dietitian questions. We want to make sure this feels like the best fit for you and you feel comfortable.
