Hi! I’m Noelle. I am an anti-diet dietitian with a passion for dismantling diet culture. I see clients virtually in Maryland and Virginia, and host in-person appointments at our Columbia, Maryland office.
Before I explain my professional background, I’d like to share a few personal notes! I’m a proud Baltimorean, born and raised. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, seeing the great outdoors (National Parks if possible!) and reading. I am hopeful to adopt a furry friend/accomplice in the near future.
My approach to my work is compassion, empathy and understanding. My dietitian career began at the University of Maryland, College Park. After becoming registered, I began a role in the acute/intensive care setting where I worked primarily with surgical oncology and nutrition support patients. This setting was pivotal in my clinical nutrition knowledge, but it was not ideal for fostering long-term connections. I shifted to outpatient work and thoroughly enjoyed the relationships I built with clients. I was also able to begin work with adolescents. This background taught me the overwhelming importance of adequate nourishment, as well as the road blocks of diet culture and weight stigma that may hinder that goal.
I believe diet culture is ingrained in so much of life, that people of all backgrounds, genders and walks of life experience. My primary goal is for clients to feel confident and capable, whether their goals are establishing recovery, navigating nutrition information or finding food freedom. I am so grateful to work at Courage to Nourish, and align my values with my profession.
