Eating disorder dietitian in College Park, Maryland and Alexandria, Virginia

Haley@COURAGETONOURISH.COM

Hi I am Haley! I am a weight-inclusive, HAES-aligned, eating disorder dietitian in Alexandria, Virginia and College Park, Maryland as well as virtually. Let me give you some background on myself. I grew up in a small town located right outside of Allentown, PA. I love seizing opportunities and “going for it”, so I’ve moved around a bit. I lived in Pittsburgh during college where I attended the University of Pittsburgh. Then, I moved to Cleveland, OH where I completed my internship at the Cleveland Clinic.

During these experiences, I learned a ton, but was starting to question the way I was being taught to be a clinician which was from a weight-centric model of care. At the time I started to question this, I was simultaneously educating myself on concepts like HAES and intuitive eating. I started to recognize this seemed much more sustainable, realistic and enjoyable! I adapted these messages into my own lifestyle and realized I began thriving, as opposed to just surviving. This inspired me to work in eating disorder care and help others repair their relationship with food and their body so they could live their fullest lives. I moved to Norfolk, VA and worked at PHP/IOP levels of care for several years. During that time, I developed a deep appreciation for eating disorder work and knew I’d found my passion.

I moved to DC to fulfill my dream of living in a big city, and joined the Courage to Nourish team. I truly love eating disorder work, and feel so fulfilled by helping others navigate this tricky diet culture web we are surrounded by. I pride myself on being a good listener and compassionate provider. I like to joke around, but also get into the serious stuff. I view myself as a partner in my client’s recovery so I will work as hard as you do!

In my free time, you can most likely find me cuddling with my puppy, Harvey, while crocheting or reading and drinking a cup of tea. If I’m not there, try the nearest thrift store, farmer’s market, or coffee shop.

Courage to Nourish strives to connect each client with the certified eating disorder dietitian that best meets their needs.

You and I would be a great fit if:

  • You! I am well-versed in all eating disorders and would love to set up a discovery call to see how I can support you

I would love to work with you!

I take on a limited number of nutrition therapy clients. If spots are full, I’ll be sure to support you in finding another amazing clinician or put you on a waiting-list.
